Many states do not permit a restraining order to be dissolved anymore due to increased awareness and concern about domestic violence. Your paperwork should tell you whether or not it can be dissolved. If they do permit it to be dissolved they may force you to take classes before they agree to it. If not, it appears that your order is only for one year.

talk to the person who put you on it. but they are only doing it for your safty and protection. If they weren't worry about what had happen and if they don't think it would again. I really don't think that they would put a restraining order on for your protection. . just think you will be safe from whatever happen. good luck.

That normally happens after a domestic disturbance. My opinion is you should keep it in place until it expires, then after that time if you still want to be with him you can, but after that calm down period you may change your mind.
