Thanks for the answers so far. I lock my door and jam it with a chair (to her ire, as she says that this is like saying they want ME or something), but one of the guys she brought home had on regalia from one of the local gangs and if my job finds out that she has something illegal going on, then I could lose my job because I live there...so thanks again....

The fact that her choices are making you nervous means it's time to find a new roommate. You should not have to hid in your room to avoid an impossible situation in YOUR own home. Think about it. Good luck.

I once had a roommate who would bring random guys home from the local bar. If anything you shouldn't be worried about the silverware and cups, you should be worried about your own safety. The way I handled it, I talked to her and told her my concerns. Its pretty scary to have a complete stranger in your home. Thank God, I ended up moving out from her.

The only thing you could really contract from silverware or cups is a cold or mono and thats if you are not washing these things after she uses them. As long as they are clean and she isn't bleeding on them before you using them I am sure you would be fine. I would share any was clothes or anything like that with her though.

Illness as flu and such you can get any where. As for STDs as long as you aren't taking part in her activities you should be fine. Just make sure you don't run into a open cut with other..... fluids she could be shareing. But the fact she brings several men to your place is very disrespectful to you. If you are uncomfortable with it you need to talk to her and let her know maybe she should be going to their place.

I'd worry far more about the fact that if she gets busted for prostitution, the police will arrest you as an accomplice. In addition to that, there's the fact that having all these strangers in and out is a serious physical danger. You need to move OUT of there ASAP. Just getting her to move out wouldn't work, because who knows when one of her customers might come around looking for her?

All according how intimate you become with your roomate's several different men each night. Maybe you should keep your personal silverware/cups in a space only accessible to yourself.

I don't think you have to worry about silverware and cups. Hopefully, you have a private bathroom or a good supply of Chlorox. As far as precautions, I think I would consider locking my bedroom door.

I wouldn't worry too much about catching something from the dishes.
I WOULD, however, worry about the police assuming that you're a prostitute, like she apparently is. If they're watching, they might assume that some of these visitors are your clients.
I highly recommend getting a new roommate.

The fact that you're even worried about it means that you should probably keep a set of dinnerware aside that only you use. Maybe you should buy some paper plates, plasticware, plastic glasses etc and suggest to your roomate that her "guests" use those things instead of YOUR dishes.
