Just wondering if i'll need the landlord's permission to get it... we have comcast right now and it's horrible!!

It's satellite and you do need landlord permission plus you need a clear shot of the southeast sky. If it's okay with the landlord get in writing and make sure it says what can and can't be done during installation. The installer will need it.

direct TV is a satellite. Usually you would need to get the landlords permission to put one up because it requires drilling into the roof or someplace on the building. If you live in a building where a satellite single can be obtained from anyone of your windows though, u can generally get past that by installing a window guard, then installing the satellite onto the window guard. Might not be necessary but its a way to get around a jerk of a landlord who might say no.
