you might have highly proteinized hair.
try using shampoo with moisturizer instead of protein.
also, towel dry before applying conditioner. rinse with cool water.

Besides all the suggestions for hair conditioning and such, which are all great suggestions, I would highly recommend that you drink at least 8-10 glasses of water everyday - NONFAIL. And be sure you eat right too. This will give your hair the best conditioning possible from the inside out and along with the conditioners you choose, you should get some great results in time. But keep up the nutrition because it will take a little time for it to show results and you must continue to eat right and drink that water!

The most successful thing I've ever seen for dry hair is to stop washing it frequently. With hair that dry, I would wash it once or twice a week at most, especially if it's longer. These days we tend to over-do it with the washing and it strips our hair of natural moisture. So if you haven't tried that yet, instead of adding more junk to your hair, try washing and conditioning once or twice a week with a nice moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I would use a leave-in as well. If you find your hair is a little more oily at first, that's normal. Just wait it out. If you do, it will adjust and then your hair will be healthier.

Its probably just damaged, I am always bleaching my hair. so i can dye color over it and stuff, and my hair got really damaged. so i cut it off pretty short and it was really healthy for a while, but my hair was blue then and it was getting really faded(like greenish in a lot of places). so i started bleaching it again and liked the blonde, so needless to say now I'm addicted to bleach and my hair falls out at the roots if I don't condition it properly... I just started using an herbal deep conditioner, and it works really good. For the first time in about a year my hair feels soft and smooth and its not falling out anymore!lol . The stuff was really cheap, you can get a big jar of it at any supermarket. I got mine for like 3 bucks. I don't know for sure if it will help you out, but I think if it helped me, then it could help anybody. If it doesn't, you could always chop it off, but that's probably the last thing you wanna do. Hope this helps.

maybe you are doing too much!! u need to let your hair relax!! Buy shampoo and conditioner for dry hair and put some vitamin E on your conditioner and buy yourself a treatment for u to use once a week. Dont wash your hair everyday. Keep trimming your hair every 6 weeks and wear a ponytail when you sleep.
Good luck and be patient, it will get better!!

keep up with the conditioning, it will help with the new hair growing through as well as giving your hair some conditioning.
You sound like you have really dried out your hair with hair dryers and straighteners. Have you thought about colouring your hair as this can add conditioning to it? but be careful and only have it done at a hairdressers!!!
What does your hair look like when they have washed/cut and blow dried it? any better condition than when you do it at home? Why not get them to wash it every week or failing that why not buy the same stuff they wash your hair in?

Some people do just have dry (almost straw like, wirey) hair. Add a little (2/3 drops) of serum to your hair daily, to give the impression of glossy hair, Straightening hair also gives the impression of smoother hair, and if you use heat protection treatments before straightening, shouldn't really do damage.

Go to walmart or kmart and buy a jar of queen helene cholesterol , hair conditioning cream. It is for dry, damaged and bleached hair. It works great and is very cheap. A hairdresser told me about it. Quit wasting money on expensive products as this is great !!! Hope it helps you as much as it helped me.

There are two shampoo/conditioners that I like and seem to keep my hair looking great the first is Avon believe it or not. it smells good (not my favorite) but I'll take it over dry hair. the other one is Herbal Essences it smells AMAZING and the conditioner always makes my hair feel so clean and well conditioned.

Cut a lemon in half and rub it on them for a bit. Don't wash it off until the next morning. Do this for a few days, or a week. It works. Good Luck!
