SIN does not have the same value there are 7 that is an abomination to the Lord and will send you straight to hell if one does not repent.
Proverbs 6:16-19
16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV)
This list of abominations is not a complete list. There are many more things that are abominable to the Lord even in the book of Proverbs.
The word hate should be taken as to reject from one’s fellowship. It is the desire to have no contact or relationship with another. [Spiros Zodhiates, The Hebrew-Greek Key Study Bible, p. 1671]
It is interesting to note that the first five all have reference to body parts. The proud look could also be interpreted as proud eyes. Then there’s the lying

You have a point there but it's true that abomination means it is hated, detested, disgusting, loathed, and so forth. I think all sin looks like that to God. It is hard for me to comprehend how He could still love and save someone who has murdered and raped countless women the same as someone who stole a piece of 5 cent candy as a youngster. His grace is amazing and His mercies from everlasting to everlasting.
I only know that regardless of whether some will suffer greater punishments and others recieve greater rewards for evil and good deeds that the blood of Jesus is the only cure and cleanses from all sin. We must guard our hearts with all diligence so our robes will be without spot or blemish. You can't spare any oil for the foolish virgins or cast any pearls to the swine. Pride has gone before the destruction of many and everyone will admit that the tongue can easily cause your religion to be in vain.

Yeah, I had a response to that too though in regards to gluttony because it isn't black and white.
"Gluttony IS a sin. Some people are overweight due to a thyroid problem. In which case it isn't a sin.
Over indulgence is gluttony, most overweight people are probably gluttons and thus are committing sin. Though people who have super fast metabolisms and still over indulge are committing gluttony, and people who are overweight because of thyroid but eat sensibly are not.
The Catholic church has other definitions of gluttony. Eating too often, eating expensive foods, or even being too picky.
Everything is not black and white.
"Be not in the feasts of great drinkers, nor in their revellings, who contribute flesh to eat: Because they that give themselves to drinking, and that club together shall be consumed; and drowsiness shall be clothed with rags." (Proverbs 23:20-21)"
To the person who doesn't get what pot has to do with sin... Pot is a sin because it is illegal and destroys your body. One must follow the laws set by the community and treating your body with respect. Pot may have no been a sin back when people didn't know it'd cause health problems or have such an effect on our minds, and wasn't illegal. When times change and our medical community gives us more information then things tend to change. Smoking tobacco is even a sin, or even getting drunk on purpose.

Everything that we do is sinful without Jesus. We are born sinful. In the Old Testament, God pointed out what was sinful and how it came about, through Adam.
In the New Testament, Jesus has covered all of these sins, by His death on the cross for us. If we accept Him as our Lord and Savior we are declaired sinless by God.

One does not go to hell for sinning.
The issue of sin was taken care of on the Cross.
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life,He who does not believe shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him".
"By grace are you saved through FAITH it is a Gift of God not of WORKS lest any man should boast".
Once you accept Christ as your Savior you can be a spiritual or carnal Christian.
To get back in fellowship Christians use 1John1:9 and pray.
"If we name our sins He is just and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness".
God loves us all.
Peace out.

I fail to see any reference to "pot" in that. Did you know that the "sweet-smelling cane" in the holy anointing oil of the old testament was "qaneh bos", from which we get the modern word "cannabis"?

hmm no sin is worse then any other. a sin is direct disobedience towards god. it is not killing a person that god hates, it is the fact you killed someone when he told you not to.
