Dental school is the same process as medical school, 4 years. Salary depends on if you want to go forward for more education and be something like an orthodontist or do you just want to be a dentist.,

Perhaps you should choose the Dental Specialist. You'd be more than doubling the Dental Hygienist salary! You'll be happy you made that choice when you want to take a vacation on short notice or buy a new car and the funds are readily available. Don't just settle, do the most you can do. I think that the payoff is greater than the price you will pay for school, both metaphorically and literally. A student loan or whatever can be paid off and when you start working after schooling is done you'll be able to pay as long as you don't overextend yourself or live beyond your means. You can open your own practice, work many different places etc. It will afford you freedoms that the first career choice will not be able to. I too am 19 and faced with a similar decision about a similar career path with about 12yrs of schooling ahead of me -.- but I want the $ and most of all to help people. So, whatever you choose to do, make sure you're happy and healthy. Good luck in the future and all the best!

4 years and if you are an agressive dentist, you can make a lot of money. Look at Dr. Dorfman a.k.a. The Extreme Makeover Dentist. In other words, 150 K and up

It is four years of undergraduate work and dental school is usually 3 or 4 years depends on where you go and other factors.

Salary? Most dentists are not paid employees. They are part of a group practice or on their own.
