Your best bet is to get it checked. The doctors will do some tests and figure it out. You can also do what that other guy said and put a compress on it. Hope this helps!

How small is small?

Bothering for how long?

How quickly did it appear?

Redness, tenderness, fever? Swollen glands?

A doctor could give you much better information than anyone here can. It could be nothing or it could be fatal or anything in between.

If it's bothering you, you should definitely seek medical help.
It could be anything form a pimple, enlarged glands, goiter, any
number of things. Seek help

I don't really know what you mean, but while you are on the computer, do a quick google for lymph nodes.

Often it can be a sign of a cold/tooth infection or somesuch..

if it is sorta sore, get some water and put like a tablespoon of salt in the water and soak your neck with a cloth

My dad had something similar to that .It was a syst. He had to have an operation to have it removed. Not cancer.

if its soft and you can move it might be a ganglion from a cold or little infection your body fights....if its hard and painfull....anyways i would have it checked
