I have a small 1/2 chihuahua and 1/2 weiner dog that is pregnat. We think that the fater is either a meduim sized mutt, or a large yellow lab or a medium sized pit bull. I was just wondering if my small dog would be ok carrying and birthing babies that are going to be fairly large for her ???

She is in danger, if the father is larger than her..Doxies have a hard time with pregnancies when pups are large..
She can be safely spayed during the first 3 weeks of pregnancy..Otherwise, she needs to be checked by the vet at about 55 days gestation, to make certain that she won't need a C-section, which is VERY likely..
C-sections cost MUCH more than spaying.

A medium size mutt or pit may have a chance breeding with your 1/2 chihuahua/weiner but I dont beleive it is physically possible for a Labrador too. Havin' a good Vet on hand would probally not be a bad idea.If she is preggers then a proper place to have the litter may be your next concern. 63 days is the full term for a dog. Best wishes!

If she became pregnant, by either of the other breeds, there will be some problems. Those dogs are way too large, for mating with a small dog, so the female, will have problems during delivery and possibly the pregnancy itself. You need to take the her, to the vet, and have her examined, and see what the vet says you should do. There is a possibility that the mother and the babies, both die, if not under the supervision of a vet. Good Luck! I hope everything works out for the best!

Depends on how small your dog is..............if she's 20 lbs and over, she might not have problems delivering if impregnated by a medium size dog. Large dog, and/or labs, pit bulls are too big for her. It'll kill her once she'll go into labor, for her pelvic bone is not big enough for the pups to pass thru. You're taking a major risk by letting carry on with pregnancy. You need to give it some serious thoughts. You can avoid all of it by getting her spay now.

Yes this could be dangerous for your dog to carry large pups. During labor the pups could get stuck in the birth canal and that would be fatal to both mother and pups. The best thing for you to is to take her to the vet and get things checked out. Your vet will determine if she will have to have a C section. This is the safest way. Good luck and Congrats!

If your dog is indeed pregnant by either the large or the medium sized dog, your female is going to die before thos pups are born. There is no way she can carry those pups to term. Take her to the vet asap and have her spayed.

Any of those probable fathers are pretty large dogs to have bred your little girl. If she gets along ok carrying the puppies, she will probably need a c-section to deliver them if it doesn't kill her before delivery time. If she makes it thru this, please have her spayed, she is already a mixed breed.
