OH GOD please don't! I did it once and it was the worst hair mistake I ever made!!! If you want waves, try one of the curling irons that they have that make your hair wavy and style it that way...it might take a little longer than you'd like, but if you get a perm and you hate it you have to either wait for it to grow out or damage your hair even more by relaxing or stripping it of the chemicals...

Save your money and your hair!

don't perm it. you can't comb it, well kind of but not what you can now and then you'll just comb the perm right out of it. try using curl and go shampoo(think that's what it's called). besides perms are sooo damaging to you hair and you have to go out and buy new shampoos and conditioners for curly/permed hair. how long is your hair? if it's short your really don't want to cus than you'll have the poodle hair. i recommend just using leave in conditioner and scrunching it that way or use hair spray and scrunch. i know it sucks but you don't want to go with the perm. and think about how it'll look when it grows out? curly on bottom and flat on top. sorry to be so harsh. good luck

OK first I'm way jealous of you! you can scrunch your hair! My hair doesn't do that no matter how long I take trying it just wont do it! But I have gotten a perm before my advice is not to perm your hair it took me a few months after changing shampoos to make it stop being so frizzy and it just damages your hair alot.

Speak to your hairdresser and ask to see pictures of perms, even if they are in magazines, to make sure you are both talking about the same type of curls, then make your decision from there as to whether you feel this would be right for you or if you would get a better result from scrunching.

see, i heard that perms were making a come back..and its not like its gonna be an 80s perm... it probably will help so much with the curl... i have a lot of hair, its thick, and has a lot of wave, i was considering do the same thing. i say do it

Go for it! "Perm" no longer means huge poodle curls on the 80s. You can get a perm just how you want it- soft curls, big curls, tight curls, whatever. Tell them what you want and they can do it. Just be very specific and take pictures with you of what you want done.

I am anti-perm myself. I prefer to work with what I've got without alot of chemicals.
