There are a lot of inexpensive flight to Ghana, shop around and compare prices. Ghana is the most stable country in West Africa, you'll find friendly people and most speak English. Ghana is absolutely beautiful with a lot of things to do and see. A tourist destination in Ghana is Cape Coast and Elima castles. Here you'll see the people in their own surrounding and learn the history about salvary. If you are looking a beautiful beach you should make your way to Ankobra Beach Resort, it is inexpensive and the beach are just gorgeous. If you're a little adventurous you should go and see the Nzulezo, village on stilts. Go north to see Kakum national park, a rain forest park famous for a canopy walkway and Kumasi, Ashanti region, In Kumasi, you find a diamond center where they sell rough diamonds to dealers from all over the world. If you're lucky you might get an invitation to meet with King Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. You can hire a car or train and if you're one of those who like to hike than this would be a great trip and you'll find other hikers along the way. Make sure you trade your currency into Cidis, some area won't take dollars, pounds, euros, etc., but majority of the place will take dollars, pounds and euros and it is a good idea to know the value of the Cidis before you go.
One thing I don't recommend is, the goat stew.
Have fun.

Ghana has an international airport (Kotoka in the capital city - Accra). There are regular international flights from America, Europe, the Middle East, Russia and other African countries.
Ghana's national carrier is Ghana Airways which flies to and from London (UK), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Lagos (Nigeria).
Delta and North American Airlines provide non-stop flights from JFK (New York) to Kotoka (Accra)

Other Airlines operating from the US to Ghana include American Airlines, Al Italia, British Airways, North West Airlines.
For specific flight details check online or with a travel agent. From a cost point of view Ghana Airways and North American Airlines may be the best option.
Once in Ghana there are internal flights from Accra to Kumasi, Wa, Tamale, Sunyani and Takoradi or you can take the STC (coach) to any of the major towns and cities.
