out there smoke pot? What would your church do if they found out?
If they found out would that be grounds to burn the demons out of you on the stake or stone you (though you probably would already be stoned).
No really, what does your religion say about using drugs like pot or alcohol?

Care to wager how many lie and say they never use it??

Guess that's pointless though - we will never know.... But you know they are out there...

I wonder if Baby K could explain to me exactly WHY pot, a medicinal herb that eases suffering, is WRONG??

I am a Christian, student of Gods Word - I haven't been to any church for almost 30 years.
It is not my desire to practice church rules and traditions.
I study and live by the Word of God. As far as weed goes, the Bible does mention a few times the word pharmacea - so you can pronounce it -- anyway, its the greek for pharmacy or drugs.
but in the context of which it is written of, it is talking about those who distribute drugs which make the person hallucinate in order to reach a higher level, a spiritual level if you will, and thereby be able to be closer in worshipping God. God hates the practice.
Other than that, Scripture also tells you that if you do not follow your doctors regime to get well, you are a fool. Just thought I'd throw that one in. Weed - hmmm... well, I have to use common sense here: when was the last time you saw two people high on pot wanting to start a fight? How about knocking off a convenience store to get money for pot? When do you recall someone being so high that they didn't realize they were strangling their wife? These are associated with Coke, Heroin, and ALCOHOL.
So, I quess my answer is that I don't care if the organized religions of the world are against it. They have alot of ideas that the masses believes to be right, but they are dead wrong as far as what Scripture says.....

Uhm. What business of the churches is it if you smoke a bit of weed. I thought the whole Christian thing was stuff like that is alright in moderation. So by what i read HERE its all good. They don't condemn AL-KEE-HOL, but they condemn drunkenness and the likes of that crap. If a religion of child molesters wanna hate on a pot smoker, they should revisit ye without sin cast the first stone and such.

What difference does it make? The Bible doesn't say "thou shalt not smoke pot". Some Christians say don't drink.... the Bible doesn't say that either.

The problem is that if you smoke pot, you are flouting the law, and that's not exactly condoned. If smoking pot were legal, the Bible doesn't say anything about it.

Using a substance to excess though is a problem. The Bible says not to be a drunkard. I'd assume that a pothead might be in the same category.

A lot of them do. I have met true blue Christians of which I would never have had thought would smoke marijuana and it ended up that they did.

(To whomever thrusted the thumb of disapproval towards me)
What is up with the thumbs down? This is not a lie, it is the honest truth. Surely you are not so deluded that you think all Christians are above smoking pot.

One of them often recites a verse about God making weed, or grass and how he saw it as good. (I think it is out of context but whatever)

I smoked pot before I became a Christian. Something is missing in your life when you do drugs. It's that simple. It's an escape from reality. I don't need it anymore. Jesus saves.

May God Bless you.

Pot is illegal.
A Christian can have an alcholic beverage as long as he does not dishonor Christ by his or her actions would not go against their faith..
If this would cause a brother or sister in Christ to be offended, I would refrain. I would not drink to the point of indulgence/intoxication.

I'm presbyterian, and all christians are suppose to obey the law of the land, which makes smoking pot a no-no. As for drinking, we're not to over-do it, get sloshed, but its perfectly fine to have a drink. It's basically common sense, overdoing anything is bad.

I'm one of those people who don't really enjoy it, odd metabolism, I get all nervous and paranoid, which I why I don't do it. Now, if I ever get glaucoma, I might start.

Not I !

The body is the Temple of THE GOD so it is a NO NO to smoke pot, drink to excess, Tattoo, Pierce, etc.

Each and everyone is a sin...just like all other sins.
There are no big and small sins -- they are all the same.

I haven't but there were MANY in my youth group that did.
Of course it's frowned upon but if they don't know, it don't hurt them. Most religions have their high (no pun intended) and mighty and yet they are the worst of the bunch.
As far as what the bible says...Basically, don't over due it.
