I totally disagree with the answers saying HK police are corrupted. The training they go through are more rigorous than the training in a lot of countries/cities. Discipline is EVERYTHING to the HK police force. I've heard of more corruption and have seen more police officers act unprofessionally in countries lk Canada and the United States. In terms of discipline, HK police are more disciplined than in other countries/cities too. A large part of their training involves marching and all those commands and discipline stuff. This is not very common in city police forces elsewhere (at least not in north america!). Oh and one thing for sure, HK police are better than the ones in China.

This is a very safe place.
We have the second most police per civilians in the world.

Some of them are just as corrupted! I remember my gf told me this police officer went to the massage parlor on Nathan Road all the time! Some of the cops are even part of the chinese gang!

some are corrupt, as in any police force in the world, but by and large they do a good job. at least they have good control over traffic, china is very bad in that area.
