people talk about it all the time but I honestly can;t figure a descent answer to what "happy hour" means??.....what is it....and what goes on during happy hour?....help me out here guys. I don't want to sounds illiterate. Thanks.

Happy Hour is a designated time that bars will promote discounted drink prices and food, sometimes the food is free. The idea is to get people there early and continue to drink long after Happy hour has ended. Initially the concept had the discounted prices for an hour, most bars now have a 2-3 hour time frame allowing more people to show up for the discounted prices. The whole premise for the concept was to get more people out drinking on non-traditional drinking nights.

Happy Hour is usually a time period after a typical worker's shift. So after a long day at the office, why not go to the bar, have a few drinks and become 'happy.' Always works for me :-)

Well, happy hour is the time when alot of people go out and socially drink. Becasue it is usually around mid day and people need a drink. It is also known as happy hour because drinks are cheaper and that makes people happy.

Well its usually a scheduled time at most bars & resturnats that serve discounted drinks and appitizers. So my local bar has a happy hour from 4-7pm m-f and its 1/2 all appitizers and 2.00 off draft beer and 3.00 off mixed drinks! So thats just an idea! A happy hour of cheap drinking & eating!

It is usually when bars have drink specials for earlier in the evening.
What goes on? Cheapskates get their drink on, lol.

obviously you are old enough to drink. It is bewteen 4-7 PM at the bar and the drinks are cheaper.. lol
