A small amount of lsd or more likely shrooms would do the trick of making the bush look like it was moving erratcally, but for it to actually appear to be on fire would take an active imagination and at least 4 drops of GOOD liquid lsd. Shrooms would not be able to give you this effect as the more you take the more likely you are to dehydrate and get sick.

You don't need hallucinogens. All you have to do is set a bush on fire and hold your hands in it and the bush will actually talk to you.

Well if the burning bush is actually glowing with the blue electric fire you might not need to take any. There's an area in the brain, the Wernicke's area or maybe it's the Brocha region, when stimulated with electricity causes the subject to hear voices and have a spiritual experience. One lady claimed she saw Jesus in a strobe light.

The ark of the covenant amounted to an exercise in miniaturization of such religious electrotechnics, i.e. a leydon bottle or primitive capacitor, the two golden "cherubims" being electrical conductors:

EXO 37:7 And he made two cherubims of gold, beaten out of one piece made he them, on the two ends of the mercy seat;
EXO 37:8 One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side: out of the mercy seat made he the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

And then we read things like:

2SA 6:2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

The voice of God, the (electric) ark of God, dwelling between the conductors.

That all depends on the hallucinogen. They come in wildly varying strengths, even within a certain kind.

Such things only happen in the distant (read unverifiable) past. Much like the Jews being freed from ancient Egypt but not modern German camps.

Eating about 3 or 4 hash brownies ought to do the trick. And hashish does originate in the Middle East.

I think 8 hits of LSD oughtta be good for a couple talking bushes and your house melting.

I've found about 600mcg of pure LSD-25 to be sufficient.

None, because Moses was talking to God who was in the Burning bush.
