it really depends on the reason why. I mean really he must have a reason for waiting five years. I've heard of people dating for 10+ years and then getting married. I guess the question is how old are you both and are you both ready for marriage. He may have commitment issues or he still wants to "live it up" and he may not be ready to give all that up. So I guess what you should do is talk to him first and maybe mention marriage but not say that you won't it now. I say that so that you wouldn't pressure him into thinking he has to ask you. Once you find out why it will be easier to figure out what you need to do, either ending the relationship or waiting it out.

Most people ask that question the answer is no some guys just need time to get use to you then maybe he might pop the question if he dosent in afew months or in the next year then maybe you to where not ment for each other.
