Either product is typically OK.
Mousse gives more volume,
Whereas scrunching gels give more definition.

Best results come from using low volume hot air with a diffuser.
hope that helps...

you're better of twirling than scrunching. but Moose is better than gel any day. gel makes your hair heavy and leavs a residue. moose is good as it's lighter and easier to use... try a serum too they're very good for shine and movement.
1. wash your hair with anti frizz products
2. put your hair up and a warm towel - do not brush or comb, just use your fingers! this is important!
3. take the towel off after about 10 mins and throw your head upside down.
4. Get a ball of moose or a slosh of serum and SMOOOTH through your hair from root to tip. do not pur your fingers through your hair, smooth over it.
5. lean your head to one side and do that side
6. lean the other way and make sure you've got all the tricky bits round your ears
7. flick your hair back and put your parting in gently, still not brushing or running your fingers through
8. make sure you get all your hair smoothed over
9. take some nice big chunks of hair from the top layer and twirl round your fingers.
10. put your head upside down and put a diffuser on it
don't play with it too much or you'll look like a poodle, just gently tease it and you can poof and scrunch it after it's dry with some spritz.

Phew! good luck x x

It really all depends on your hair, but the way I do it (and for me, at least, it works....is working right now, in fact) is to get out of the shower, having washed and used light conditioner in my hair. I have stick-straight hair so I cannot use too much--if you do also, only small amounts of conditioner!! For some people with straight hair, it is also unwise to comb it after you get out of the shower, but I do anyways and it still works fine. Now let your hair dry naturally for a while, until it starts to curl up a little in the front, then I use TRESemme European tre mouse Extra Hold and put a lot in my hand. Flip your hair over, and starting at the roots, put in the mouse. You may need a second handful or more to get your hair really covered. Still flipped over, use your hands to scrunch your hair up towards your scalp into fists. Do this many times, and if you want it to dry faster, use a towel. You may have to ball all your hair on top of your head in a scrunched up bun for a while. Hairspray you can use if you want, but all it really does it makes your hair smell weird. To get it just right for you, stand up straight and scrunch each side of your head and the back. Keep doing this periodically until you hair is really dry (even though it may still look wet). Good luck and have fun!

I think mousse works alot better than gel. After you wash your hair apply the mousse to your hair and take smallsections at a time and scrunch it real good , when your scrunching, hold the scrunch for 4 to 5 seconds.

i would pass on both and just spray leave in conditioner when you get out of the shower and scrunch. when it dries, scrunch it again to soften it. if you really want to use one of those, i would go with gel, mouse flakes off white which looks like dandruff. after shower or soaking hair with water towel dry. apply quarter size amount of gel, flip head upside down, scrunch. flip back up and scrunch bottom only. same thing with leave in conditioner but use as much as you like, just be careful not to use too much cus your hair will look greasy when it dries. good luck

If you are scrunching with a blow dryer use mouse. If you are letting air dry use a scrunching gel (I like Garnier Fructise).
