I have a 2002 Toyota Celica. I want something that rides better and is a little safer. I would just like some opinions.

My daughter and husband purchased a 2004 Chevy Tahoe to pull a 4500 lb. Mastercraft boat from Long Island to the Adirondacks twice per yr.. They also tow to Keuka Lake in upstate NY. once during the summer. She chose to use synthetic motor oil because of towing. The vehicle is loaded, never once has it been at the Chevy dealer for any problem what so ever. I did put an AC Delco air cleaner this summer but the meter on the cold air box said it was 1/ 4 up the scale. Personally I'd go for a trailblazer in a heartbeat. The SS version stirs my soul again. I'm 62 yrs. old and driven Chevy's all my life. Back in the 60's three Chevelles. 65 - 350 hp.327, 69 - 350 hp. 396, 69 375 hp.396 and my pride and joy 69 Chevelle fully blue printed 425 HP. 427. Needless to say that's behind me now. Good Luck Shopping!

I have a 2003 trailblazer LT, I would recommend the LT version as they have larger wheels and ride like a car, no major problems with it other than a recall on the rear brakelights and it locked in 4 wheel drive 3 times on me and wouldn't come out until I stopped and shut it off and restarted it then it was ok, as far as I know the chevy dealer tells me GM engineers are still working on this problem, it hasn't happened for 2 yrs. now so maybe when they reprogrammed the 4 wheel drive unit computer the last time they fixed it.

Look at the GMC Acadia that has just come out. Better looking than the Trailblazer (looks like something M-B might design). Super safe with side curtain airbags and stability control standard. Much better gas mileage than a Trailblazer. Elegant interior.

Chevy Blazers have a good reputation. However comfort and safety is an issue in my opinion. Due to their high ground clearance there is a "rollover" danger even at slow speeds and especially in an emergeny situation where you have to make a sharp turn to avoid hitting something. There is a warning lable on the driver's side sunshade about this.
