So im a High School JR right now just about to start the app process for USNA and I was wondering if my academics, ec's, etc.....would get me into NAPS or USNA....i have a 3.17 GPA(college prep curriculum Bellarmine Prep in San Jose) I play two sports, Varsity Football and JV baseball (varisty is #3 in USA) i have performed about 20 hours of community service (so far). I have had family attend the school, my dad who served 20 years and is now a B&G officer and my great uncle. I have lived in Annapolis almost on the yard. I am very intrested in the school, no doubt and i already know what i want to do in the Navy (Aviation). I am also intrested in playing baseball for Navy. Judging by the PSAT, I know my SAT scores wont be that great. Im just seeing if I have a better chance at Naps or USNA...thanks

USNA is very competitive. About 10% make it. If you want to get in, I would say get that GPA up, past a 3.5 at least. Then, just make sure you're in excellent shape and pass the physical fitness test. Just keep it up, do as best as you possibly can, and you've got a chance. Sorry I don't know many stats about NAPS.

You'll never know if you don't apply! Good luck!

in case you pass to the Naval Academy you will on no account be enlisted. The Naval Academy purely produces officers. once you graduate you will pass to the army as a 2d Lt. you assert you're already in army DEP? in case you don't get in you're already enlisted interior the army so which you would be going to undemanding coaching as an enlisted sailor. once you're graduating intense college i do no longer comprehend why you're able to pass to prep college. Prep faculties are in many circumstances intense faculties that prepare human beings for college. this is not correct although. considering the fact which you're already in DEP you're going army.
