Some people look at it as an expression of love, if you really loved a person a lot you would want to be with them completely and fully in everyway. Maybe not right away but after a long time( a year or so) you would at least think about it or maybe you just arent attracted to them. You seem like you are very young and probably not ready.

Yes you can be together without being together. Sex is important because it is a way of expressing how you feel about someone without the actual words. Actually it's not sex it's called making love. There is nothing wrong with making sure both people are in love before engaging in sexual activity.

You can sit there and read about everyone's romanticized view of a relationship and how love "conquers" all...at least that's what all the books, movies and romantics think. Unfortunately, the reality is that we are all living breathing things with "real" needs. Without getting into psychology and the "id"...blah, blah, blah, sex is an innate need that we need to fulfill. We can not and should not go against nature. Everything else, such as love, is a learned or conditioned response. It's not tangible and not definable while sex is a tangible need.

If you don't want to have sex with the one you are dating or are married to then why not just live with your brother or sister or cousin or someone that you can trust other than the person that wants to have sex with you. Sex is extremely important and that has countless reasons. A relationship without sex is just a friendship. If that is what you want, then your "friend" should be allowed to have sexual relations with other women. It would not be normal to suppress your urges. Actually - I would even go as far as saying that if you don't have a sex drive at all, there is something medically wrong with you - seriously! It might have to do with your hormone levels. Talk to your doc....could be depression, too.
If none of that applies...maybe you are just not that into him?

I think the answer lies within you. If you love someone and you know you love that person then you have to make that decision together! If it is an issue for you to have sex with your partner then you need to talk to them about it. If you have told them NO and they still make it an issue then you have to re-evaluate your situation. Does this person love me or are they just after one thing? You can't really tell, by the amount of time you have been together, about something like this because some people will wait as long as it takes to get what they want and then they are gone. Sit down with your partner and talk to them about it. TELL THEM YOU ARE NOT READY and maybe they will understand! If there are pressure issues, tell them they are making you uncomfortable and it needs to stop! If it does not stop then you have to make a decision as to where you really think you stand with this person! Then you have to do whatever needs to be done to take care of YOU!

If you want a relationship without sex then be up front about it with a potential partner, Then you will find someone who feels the same way you do about sex in a relationship. If you are with a man who puts sex high on his priorities then by not being intimate with him he will start to resent you and eventually leave or cheat. The same goes for women who place sex high on their priorities. Be Honest, Be upfront and both of you will have a better relationship

Yes, it's possible. But it's not always a lot of fun.

Sex is a natural drive that we all have. We are biologically engineered to want to have sex. And being in monogamous relationships allows us to do that without risking our health. Now, sometimes, due to sexual incompatibilities, stress, or conflicting schedules, some couples can't have sex as often as they'd like. But a strong couple can make it through that.

EDIT: Intimacy does not equal sex. In fact, here are a few definitions from Answers.com:

1. Marked by close acquaintance, association, or familiarity.
2. Relating to or indicative of one's deepest nature: intimate prayers.
3. Essential; innermost: the intimate structure of matter.
4. Marked by informality and privacy: an intimate nightclub.
5. Very personal; private: an intimate letter.
6. Of or involved in a sexual relationship.

Of coarse you can, BUT it depends on what type of guy your with, and what his morals are, and same for a man with a women, depends what kind of women you have and what her morals are. Someone who doesn't respect you or your body and the choices you have made, are not worth your time. Sex should be last in a relationship, you work your way up to it, when its the right time, it should not be the first thing that brought you guys together in the first place. If so, its not gonna last.

For me, sex is important to help to give a physical action to support my emotional feeling.

Could I survive if my wife said no more sex, I could but I would be forced to wonder what I had done to make her not want to share that experience ith me anymore.

What if she was physically unable, that would be a different story altogether. For one she would probably be just as frustrated as I would be with the situation and help me look for alternative solutions.

All in all sex isn't a must have in a relationship it just helps to solidfy each others feelings. It can be a wonderful way to share happiness, to deal with stress, and especially to make up after a fight.

Hope this answer helps.

You can have it either way.....but, yes....sex is very important in a relationship. It's more of a mental stimulant within one another. It does and brings the relationship a lot closer too. If you don't want sex and someone else is pushing you....then....be straight up with them and tell it like it is and how you feel.
