Could you recommend a basic, yet thorough book about the basics of interior design?

Something that would cover things like symmetry, lighting, balance, color, texture -- things like that. I have no talent, but a lot of interest in learning interior design. I would like to take a course through the community college, but it's not an option for me right now. Thank you.

I have some Time Life books on interior that are very good. Check out any major book store.
