I am just wondering if there is a way that I can measure how much electricity a device (tv, computer, etc.) is using at any giving moment. I was thinking about maybe something like a surge protector with a digital read out on it telling you how much power it is usinng.

Randy's right. Using an inductive ammeter is the easiest way to get the amperage reading.
