I know corgis are cattle dogs and they like to herd cattle around. I believe she thinks our children are her cattle. We'd like to keep her, but I don't know if we will be able to if she doesn't stop this habit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

corgis are yes cattle dogs and where is she biting the children? if it is on there ankles as they walk the herding drive is what is making her nip. when corgis herd cattle they nip at the backs of the cattle's feet. they are low enough to the ground so that when the cow/bull kicks out at them they are missed. unfortunately this is a bred in instinct, most corgi's drive to herd won't even stop after they are kicked by a cow/bull, so in order to keep this dog you need to give it a job. one great way to use her energy is agility training or you could try some obedience classes with her. if nothing works you should find her a home with someone who is experienced with the breed and wants to use her to herd some type of livestock... good luck with your corgi!!!

She is herding them, many herding dogs will do this. Squirt her in the face with a water bottle set on mist, and tell her NO! when she does it. You need to be consistent. You can also put her in a crate when you have a bunch of kids running around.

Being a herding dog, this is not uncommon. Obedience training with a professional who is experienced with herding animals is best. Call your vet for references or your breeder. Good luck.
