I am black but my hair wont grow past my neck. I want ot be able to grow it to the full potential. Also, how do you get the hair to be healthy around the edges?

well as it is growing you need to keep your split ends trimmed every 6-12 weeks and you also need to keep your ends mosturized, your hairs isnt getting longer because your ends are splitting and breaking off, also they say that when black hair reaches the neck you should keep it up in a ponytail or something until its gets to your shoulders, they say that because the hair is sweeping against your shirt, so there fore it causes more friction which causes breakage, after it gets to your shoulder it is ok to wear it down all the time because it then will rest on the shirt!!!!

**i didnt do that and my hair is getting long, what u should do is trim your ends, keep them mosturized, and massage your scalp once or twice a day, it helps stimulate the blood flow, and promotes hair growth, also take hair, skin, and nail vitamins!!!!

email me and we can talk more about what to do!!!!!

trim ur hair b/c it gets the dead ends off and when ur ends are "dead" that means ur hair wont grow as fast and the name "dead ends" is pretty dag umm self-explainitory! get those off and then at home try a leave in conditioner and when ur in the shower and put conditioner on focus on ur ends big time to keep em healthy.

no. i have never cut my hair and my friend who trims her hair only has 1/4 the length of my hair, my hair grows faster then hers does. so that is just a philosophy. then again peoples hair grows at different speeds. but i know trimming it just gets rid of split ends, but you them back so what is the point?
