I was wondering if anyone knew what major in college dental assistants must be? Also what types of classes one needs to take to be a dental assistant and also what type of degree, if any, one may need? Thanks for the help :)

i went to a community college and recieved my certificate in 8 wks and was hired a few weeks later look into certificate classes they are alot quicker and cost alot less good luck!!!

You don't need college to be an assistant. Although, I think college should be a MUST. You can go to a dental office and see if they are willing to train you. Some office do . Then you can get x-ray licensed and take the state test.Good luck!
