My 15 month old son shakes his arms and legs and stares blankly, the shaking can last up to a couple of minutes and the staring longer. He does the shaking worse when he first wakes up from sleeping and when he gets excited. Plus he startles EASILY! Also he has very mottled skin and seems to always have cold hands and feet...what does this mean?

The things you are describing are signs of autism. Take your son to his pediatrician asap. It's not a seizure. Does he ever flap his hands in front of his face?

My son use to shake a lot when he got excited or in the morning when I'd hand him a bottle. His little shoulders would shrug up and down really fast. It stopped once he turned about 18mnths.
I always thought it was weird.......but cute. I think it was just all his nerves growing and they don't know quite how to control them yet? If you're worried I'd ask a doctor.

Sounds ALOT like seizures. Rhythmic jerking or shaking is one sign. Another is developing a loss of awareness which is why he stares.

Take him to his doctor immediately or if you have to take him to the ER.

People are so freaking stupid on here...Your kid is not stupid if he's shaking, he may have had a bad dream or possibly be signs of a seizure.. Take him to a Pediatrician.
Ignore ignorant ppl on here who say you're stupid and the kid is stupid...
When you don't ask questions, that makes you stupid....
