Okay, let us say it is Fiction. Though the Word Bible or B.I.B.L.E., is you can accept at least as fiction, it will help you more, in a basic spiritual way, if you read it thinking of the real meaning of its name which is : "Basic Instruction Before Living Earth" Thank-you. There is much more than you can think about this though you, I assumed because of your opinion, have reed the best Book ever wrote. So, why not expand your mentality and Spiritual horizon, and read now something about Buddhism, Tibet will be a good start, or something about, sciences and religion all together, don't toast out way the best book ever writing yet, it may be valuable before the end. There were many who learn from this book, and non of then or their Spirits, have ever been found by living people, and I'm not talking about Elvis? or John Lenon?,

You just confirmed that the events of the Bible are true by your statement..."written by men many years after the events"...which is also not true...anyway...One place where you still have to prove the inaccuracy of the Bible's history is the place of the resurrection of Jesus Christ...all points of Science, History and Religion have to still account for the empty tomb...(without a trace)....
1 Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

You are correct! It is almost entirely fiction. There is a bit of historical truth such as the names of ancient cities and their locations but the story of Jesus is pure fiction. I think many people have been brainwashed into thinking Jesus is real. I think it is the best selling because people who are born into Christianity think they HAVE to be good Christians and own a bible. Thats a lot of sheep buying one particular book.
