Keep it clean, and just watch for any infections..Call your vet if it isn't healing, or gets hot and swollen.

I would take her to the vet, in the meanwhile put a sock on the dogs foot to keep it clean, use an ace bandage to hold it on. The vet will be able to clean the area and probably give an antibiotic to keep infection away. My dog broke a toenail and had to be put to sleep so that the vet could go ahead and cut it the rest of the way off. Good Luck!!

It will heal over time, but you definitely should take her to the vet to make sure that there are no shards of her toenail left inside and that it is not going to get infected.

If your worried phone the vet for advice! If your dog is up todate with booster injections its not so bad and they tend to heal very quickly! Soak it with salt water that will clear germs and heal quicker! wrap it in a bandage when going out on walks just to prevent any infections or anything going in the wound ! But remember to take the dressing off when you get home air is the best healer!!!!!!!!!!

If there is uncontrollable bleeding, you should take the dog to the vet. In the meantime, keep the paw clean and wrapped to prevent infection. Watch it very close. Any sign of infection, call the vet immediately. What to watch for? Excessive bleeding, inability to clot, swelling, inflammation, redness, heat, discharge, limping, lethargy, trouble breathing, etc.

If her toenail came out completely, you may want to contact your vet. It is very painful for dogs to have their nails removed. It would be the same as ripping off one of our own nails.

You'll need to take her to the vet. The same thing happened to my male beagle labrador mix a month and one day ago. They will probably give you some anti-biotics, and it will heal with the help of them. My dog was on Ant-biotics for two weeks and it helped unbelievably.

Clean it well and make sure it is kept clean while it is healing. See the vet if there is ANY sign of infection or other problems.

The nail will probably grow back, but occasionally it doesn't.
