Hairloss is a symptom of being hypothyroid. It can also be a side effect of Synthroid. If you are stil experiencing hairloss it often can be helped by T3. Synthroid is a T4 medication and many of us do better with both T4 and T3. Good thyroid website below

My hair falls out A LOT but luckily I have thick hair...noticed it was coming out more....then I got diagnosed with a low functioning thyroid.

All the people I talk to say once your hormones in your thyroid system get normalized, your hair will slow down on the falling out.

That would be nice to see. :) Hoping for it!

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 9 years ago as was my daughter when she was 14. We both lose ridiculous amounts of hair every day. You can't tell so much on her because her hair is long and THICK, but mine has gotten pretty bad, especially in the front. I'm not bald by any means but it's still frustrating. We both also lost the outer edges of our eyebrows. Mine have become so thin that I have to "draw" them in with brow powder.
