i ate lots of bananas after my daughter was born, they are slow releasing energy foods and they are low in fat and calories and pretty much everything else. you can't go wrong with fruit and vegetables. mostly i would avoid dieting. remember you just had a baby, your body had 40 weeks of turmoil give it a while to recover. gentle exercise and good food are the key for a few weeks. i went from a size 18 post pregnancy to a size 12 without any robust effort within about 4 months. i then started to get serious and am now back to the size i was before my son was born, a size 8.
please note the above sizes are UK size...

I am soooo feeling you!! I too have not been the same since having my son, but I'm on the path to recovery. First - stop being so hard on yourself. This is what happens to our bodies after having a child. Some women are lucky. Second - find a time that you have just to yourself and make it work for what you need the most. Ex: bubble bath, movie, read a book, sing, dance, exercise, etc. These things will help you feel better about yourself and make you relax so your body will shed the pounds easier. Jump start your metabolism by exercising first thing in the AM and by having breakfast within 2 hrs after waking. Believe me, it can be done! Start off by walking or riding a bike for half an hour 4 days a week and incorporate some weight lifting 2 days a week. Low weight and lot's of reps - this will tone you. Take one day off and pamper yourself.
Remember you are a goddess and your body is your temple. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

Your biggest meal should be breakfast; medium lunch; small dinner. Have a snack like an apple or banana during the day as well. Eat whole grains, veges, and lean protein. Keep in mind that your weight will not come off as fast if you don't breastfeed. Take your exercise slowly at first, especially if you have a C-section. Be patient, and don't starve yourself.

sure...breastfeeding is going to be the best way at first to get your body back to a normalcy that you can work with. within the first 6 wks after delivery though you want to take it easy...you will get there again but you will need to take time for your body to heal..come visit us at www.ladiesplace.net for more information, weight loss tips, and much more
