you need to make it fun, if its a toy. so involve colours on the levers. and you have to have a rolling ball in there too, a la mousetrap. you will need to start at the switch end to make enough energy to flick a light switch is not as easy as it sounds. plus your lever would be best served by using a piston rod at the actual actuating end. dropping the ball onto a piston rod maybe?
