The girl upstairs from us had it and my man researched it on line. Apparently, it's a fungus. You have to disinfect. If it keeps coming back, it's safe to say that what you're doing isn't working.
Selsun 2.5% is one of the treatment that your doctor is going to recommend. ( It's a medicated shampoo with selenium sulfide) I suggest using it as a body wash.
Wash everything you can think of, including ALL towels sheets carpets. Use a different towel everyday. Change your sheets everyday also. My boyfriend told her to wash everything with hot water and a LITTLE bleach. Wipe all surfaces. It isn't enough to just vacuum. I moped her floors and carpet with a Lysol cleaning liquid. On the carpet, you just pass the mop on it. ( Don't forget to really really ring out all the water as much as you can so you don't end up with wet carpets. Don't forget your couch(s). And go see a doctor.

Ringworm Keeps Coming Back

Honestly, you're Dr is a quack. Ringworm is not a bacteria, so an anti-bacterial is not going to do anything. You should have gotten a topical cream., Ringworm is surface treatable, most of the time you don't take oral medication for it. Go to a new doctor immediately and get some topical cream. Talk to your pharmacist too, because they're sometimes more knowledgeable than the doctors. It spreads through food, hairbrushes and skin-to-skin contact. You guys need to sleep separately while you heal for now. Skin becomes more sensitive as the seasons change, so that may be why the rest of your family got it. Anti-FUNGAL cream. You may even be able to use over the counter stuff. Talk to a new doctor and the pharmacist ASAP.

Fast Ringworm Cure?

2016-05-30 22:58:41 · answer #4 · answered by ? 3 · 0 0

I've heard multiple treatments such as clear nail polish to smother it, anti-fungal creams to treat the fungus, bleach (which I definitely would not try since I'm highly allergic to chlorine), salt to dry it out, and more. But if it keeps coming back, it's time to see the doctor. I had one and it wound up getting infected costing me far more than if I had just gone to the doctor in the first place.
Another thing to consider, have you found the source of the ringworm. Are you getting it from a pet that whose condition hasn't cleared?
Good luck.

ringworm is a fungal infection, if you are feeling run down all the time this could be why it is re-occurring, you need to get a fungal treatment from your GP and keep your towel separate from anyone else in the house hold, this way you won't pass it on..

You know it is not worms don't you, rather it is a fungal infection. Have you been to the doctor's? Have you used an anti-fungal product like Lamasil?

You need to find the source of the fungus. Take any pets to the vet to have them treated. Wash everything in your house that is washable in piping hot water, allow everything else to air out and dry out.
