I'm sure after shampooing it a few times it'll wash out. Sharpie really isn't a permanent marker unless it's on paper. Oddly as it sounds, I used to use it as an eyeliner under my eyes. It always washed right off. I'm am very positive it WILL come out. But it'll probably take a little time. Don't be scared.

Just think about the things people have put in their hair to change it's color. Kool-aid, food coloring. Those came out. Not instantly but they did come out. Your hair is a specific color and the only thing that can change it is a harsh chemical found in hair dye. Luckily, sharpie does not contain this. You will be fine.

PLEASE READ THIS PORTION

DO NOT TRY THE TERRIBLE METHODS THESE MEN ARE TELLING YOU TO. YOU MAY WANT TO JUST PUT A LITTLE VEGETABLE OIL OR ALOT OF VEGETABLE OIL AND MASSAGE IT IN AND THEN SHAMPOO IT OUT.

Yes, in high school my mother never wanted me to dye my hair. My solution? Color it with sharpie. My hair is naturally blonde, so I used to do it all the time and it worked out well. It'll take a while for it to all come out, but all of mine always did... Don't worry.

I once had the same problem with paint in my hair and was oil based so shampoo and water would not work. The only thinkg I could find that would work was gasoline but you could try that if gas is not available try paint remover but be warned is hard on your hair and do not get it your eyes. Best way is to apply to your hair using a rag then apply shampoo and wash repeatedly.

Best of luck

oh no!!!!! red hair defiled by sharpie!!! um, i dont really know what would take it out. if youre willing to have lighter hair, and not hate me if it fails, you can try hydrogen peroxide or something of that nature. otherwise, i think youll just have to wait it out and wash youre hair normally for a dew weeks.

Try hair spray or acetone nail polish remover. I know hair spray takes it off of counters and so does acetone nail polish remover.

Eventually...you could try fingernail polish remover, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Just keep washing it!
