Are there any tax deductions for a child with autism that is 12 years old, and living with the family besides any medical expenses?

The dependent exemption and the Child Tax Credit(or additional Child Tax Credit) whichever applies to your tax situation. The medical expenses are deductible on a schedule A as well. Also keep in mind if the child is considered disabled then you can continue to claim them beyond the normal age limitations due to his disability. Also you can claim any daycare or childcare that is necessary due to his disability beyond the normal 13 years old.

Depending on the state you live in, you may qualify for state assistance with expenses such as medical or education expenses.
