How do I speak to a guy I fancied for 5 years?

Im not a desperate freak. But I Really Like this guy and I have since year 5 (4 years). Anyway Im really shy and I can't talk to him, I do occasionally ask him about erm.. The score of a match hes just played in But hes well shy and kinda mumbles stuff really quietly back. I always catch his eye and things but does that mean anything??? My Bezzie always ses that she sees Him looking at me!? I really want to talk to him but as ive never spoken to him Ive known him since year 4 at school so I cant just walk up and say Hi! I really love or fancy this guy and i dunno what to do!!! yas x

Its always a huge compliment when somebody tells you they have a crush on you. Even if he is not interested in you, things will still go good because he will appreciate your interest even if he's not available. So he will probably let you down nicely if you tell him you've had a crush (worst case scenerio).

Ask one of his close friends if he's single. That way you know his friend will tell him you asked about it. If he's interested or not, it should then become more obvious.
