This is an impossible question to answer. It depends completely upon the jurisdiction, the offense for which the person is on parole, and the violation. In SOME jurisdictions there is a "balance" of a sentence which CAN (but may not) be imposed. The person may, or may not, have to serve all of that before being paroled again. In others, there is a specific amount of time (e.g., up to a year in prison) that can be imposed for a violation.
