all my five kids had it at one point. If it is on the skin, apply any antifungal cream, generic is fine, every time you think about it. It'll take a couple weeks.Make sure not to let the infected area touch any other areas on anyone , it's very contagous if not being treated, If its being treated its fine. If its in the hair, youll have to take the child to the doctor because she'll need internal medicine, this type of ringworm is totally different and you can expect some hair loss. If on the scalp, scrub the area daily with soap and apply vaseline to it until you can get the internal medicine for it.

Buy a dandruff shampoo called Nizoral (drugstores or wal-mart). It has a powerful anti-fungal medication in it that gets rid of ringworm because ringworm is a type of fungus. It worked for me! It's about 10 dollars a bottle.
Also, it's good to use because it also cleans the area since it contains soap. Plus, it is gentle and doesn't smell bad.

Both my children had ringworm a while back. I took them to the doc and they told me to buy Lamisil. Its a antifungal cream. I put the cream on the spot once a day until it was gone. I think it took about a week. Make sure you watch her so she doesn't scratch it, it can spread. Good luck. :o)

Agree with the anit fungal cream. Be careful of contact it spreads. A bandaid over the site will help reduce that if the3 year old will tolerate it.
If you have animals, have them wormed. My parents used to have the vet worm us kids and the animals. All that and I still turned out "normal"

My son had it last summer and we applied an anti-fungal gel on it 2x a day until it cleared up and for a week after it was totally gone. It took a while (about a month until it was totally cleared up) but the ped said it can recur if you do not treat it past when you can see it.

Get an antifungial cream from your doctor.
Use it every day. I think I put it on my daughter each morning and night.

My 3 yr. old has it too. Anti-fungal cream is what the pharmacist told me to use, but it seems like it stings a little to her when I apply it. I haven't tried Tinactin, but I tried the generic version of it. If you find something mild and effective, I would like to know too.

Keep the area clean and keep applying the cream as often as you remember.
My son just got over this. Takes time, but it will go.
