I joined Weight Watchers.com when I wanted to loose weight and I lost like 10 lbs in my 1st three weeks. It is a great program and I plan to go back on it when I have my baby. Also, you can do crunches which help to firm up your tummy. Good luck.

Even better than sit-ups would be to lie flat on the floor with your arms stretched way out above your head but flat on the floor. Now using your core(stomach, lower back) lift both your legs slowly until they are aligned with your hips - then lower them back down slowly. If you use your core to pull your legs up you WILL feel this in your stomach - also the next morning lol. It puts less strain on your neck and back to these verses crunches plus it's more effective. Do 50 of these at least once a day. You can also bring your knees up to your chest in the same position and rotate slowly from side to side keeping your lower back on the floor, only move your knees, to trim your waist. Also, try doing some heavy cardio for an hour each day until you leave. And buy one of those thermal wrap around things for your tummy and use it while working out. It pulls out all the excess water you have there and heats things up in that area. I find it very effective. Increase your water and cut your bad carbs like any white stuff - sugar, flour, potatoes, cut out all fast food and add whole grains and lots of veggies. You do this you'll lose 6 lbs quick and flatten your belly! I know it works, I follow this plan.

Well, people seem to think that doing crunches/situps will help to tone the belly. However, I have found that if a person is going to lose weight it will be however their body wants to lose it. Meaning, that if you suddenly lose five pounds it could come from your hips/butt/chest/legs/stomach where ever it wants. I used to do a lot of crunches every day and never lost one centimeter off of my stomach.
Now, losing 6 pounds could be easy. I (although I probably weigh a LOT more than you do) lost 15 pounds in 1 week by eating nothing but plain vegetables. There was no dressings or anything on them. I just ate veggies.
Good luck.

You could lose 6 lbs. in a week, but that would be too extreme. I would try Special K cereal with skim milk for breakfast, and make your lunch your biggest meal of the day. Do a cardio workout (not just walking) 4-5 times/wk for at least 20 min. until your trip.

Yeah its possible. Six lbs is a reasonable and good goal. Exercise and eat right. Try to go for about 1400-1700 (depending on size) calories a day and exercise 4-5. good luck.

I poledance. Its really good for strenghening your limbs as well as your core muscles. Its fun and gives you a flat, strong stomach as well as lengthening the muscles in your limbs. Plus it burns fat and works fast. You can buy your own pole from many online shops or go to a class. If you get your own I suggest buying a dvd to go with it. Most of them are really good.

soups can be both filling and comforting try making a garden or bean soup with low salt broth and store in portion sized cups for later
