Questioning God is not exchanging truth for a lie. Did you ever stop to think that when people do this, they are pointing directly at what PEOPLE say God is?
What free gift???????? *Serve me or burn - Love me or be tortured forever* is NOT a "free gift". That's called extortion. The Mafia does it (and quite well).
As for expecting him to be what they/we/I want him to be... not hardly. But that doesn't mean I'm going to place blind faith in something just because someone said "This is from God" I don't care how well you have it memorized. Or how many verses you can pull out that supports your own view of it. That alone is not proof. And the verse you posed doesn't say anything about people answering back to God. In fact, the Bible itself says to "Test ALL things and hold to that which is True" That right there pretty much tells you to Prove It before you believe in it.

I think it's quite natural for Christians to question God, even point fingers at Him. If a Christian has doubts or quarrels with God, they should express them. It would be unhealthy not to do so. Indeed, many of the Psalms take this approach. One of the most famous lines from the Psalms is from Psalm 22: "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Jesus is supposed to even said this while dying on the cross, according to Matthew 27. If that's not pointing fingers at God, I don't know what is.

I have no problem with your god or your faith.
The problem many people have is with some of the so called priests, and representatives of your god, who bend the teachings of your god to gain them money and power.
I heard someone say this phrase recently
"Evil men do evil things. But for good men to do evil things, it takes religion"
my answer appears to match your bible quote well.
what ever people say, be true to yourself,
remember your faith is in your god, not the words or interpretations of the priests

There are some out here who praise God, my dear. I see you have been ganged up on by the god haters. Stand firm in your faith and remember there are others who are thankful and love Him too. This site is filled with those who like to mock God and His followers, don't let it disturb you everything is as Jesus said it would be. Take heart and encourage one another with prayer, Psalms and thanksgiving, our day will come. God Bless.

God's not a person?!? - news to me; I've always been told there were THREE Persons in the Trinity! Besides, we're not answering back to God (I'd LOVE to, where's His web site...?), we're answering back to people like you who claim to be His early representatives! Anytime God Himself wants to complain about something I said about Him, I'm ready to listen...

God made Man in His own image.
We question, judge, and point fingers, because God made us that way. God made us that we because He's that way Himself.

If you're trying to decide if you believe in God, you are asking about a concept of God told by man. Many concepts of God do not sit right with people, and many people don't believe in God at all, which they have a perfect right to believe.

That's your belief, and much of the world does not share it. If you want to put yourself through all sorts of emotional gymnastics over that fact, go right ahead. Your Bible is no more than mythology to me.

When you figure out there's no deity, your version or any one else, we'll look back on this question and share a hearty laugh.
Until then, I guess I'm just laughing at you and your beliefs in a false god.
