Does anyone know if there is some virus going around that causes diarrhea in the mornings? I have had this every morning this week, and it lasts till about noon. It is driving me crazy! I dont want to go to the doctor though- seems silly for something like this. But if not a virus what could cause ongoing diarrhea that lasts only in the morning and then you are fine the rest of the day?

it could be dairy and if its not that, then maybe a change of metabolism.just try to eat healthy not so much fast food or junk food.my opinion is to check yourself with the doctor because that is not normal.

Do you have nausea too? I don't know what's wrong with you but I will share what my problem was. I was having the same issue in the mornings only and along with that I was nauseous and I also started to have pains in the upper part of my stomach. What my problem was was acid reflux. I started taking zantac 150 2x a day and within a few days everything resolved. I went to the doctor though and he is who diagnosed me. He said it also sounded like it could have been my gallbladder but after an examination he determined it to be acid reflux. Well, just wanted to share my story with you in case you had one or more of the symptoms I had, too. I put up with my symptoms for a couple weeks before seeing a doc but I'm glad I finally went. Get checked out.

It can definitely be a GI virus. And as such, it will run its course. But one should always check with an MD with any change in bowel patterns.

Try some acidophilus/bifidus (the active cultures in yogurt) available in any health food store. Drink plenty of fluids and stay warm.

Has the weather been cold where you are? Are you eating salads or ice cream? Strange questions, I know, but to an acupuncturist they are important. Besides the yogurt, try eating only warm cooked foods for a while, like soups, stews, cooked vegetables. No ice cream or frozen foods, no salads. Just until the problem clears up.

Good luck!

I could be that you are lactose intolerant. Try not to eat or driink any dairy products for one or two days and see if it helps. I had the same problem. I am lactose intolerant and I must chew one to three loctose pills with the first bite or drink of a diary products. I hope this helps.

If it was a virus it probably would cause you to have diarrhea all day, not just in the morning.

I dunno what to tell you..call your doctor up and ask him/her, it's never silly when it comes to your health :)
