I am in the very same boat as u are.. I am on medicare and they require a co pay on everything. How much do the people with no co pay have to pay for insurance? That's the key. The more u pay, the better "benefits". I am just thankful my co pay is only $3.00. My mom's co pay for non generic is 20.00 each..It's hard to understand for me too. It seems like the poor people have to pay more than the "not so poor".. Several places have $4.00 rx (wal-mart, Kroger, Country Mart).. However, be careful with those $4.00 rx.. it doubles the price of the NON $4.00 items..

Prescription insurance sucks these days. Everything depends on what type of insurance you can afford...the higher the premiums, (usually) the less you pay for other services....

Check with Wal Mart to see if your medications qualify for their $4 program. They have many generics that you can get for $4 per prescription. If they don't have your dosage, check to see if they have other dosages that can equal yours. For instance, I was taking 40mf of a med once per day...and that drug was not on their $4 plan...but the 20mg was. I asked the Pharmacist to write the instructions for 20mg twice per day, and ended up paying $40 less for my meds. He didn't get in trouble because I was still taking the 40mg per say that the doc had ordered.

Check it out
