I have minor acne scars and I have a scar on my forhead. Would a dermatologist do like a chemical peel or something or is that a plastic surgeon?

Anyone had any of this done? Did your insurance cover it?

I had a friend that had that problem, a dermatologist can only clear the acne currently on your face and prevent it from coming back. He cannot take care of permanent scars already on your face. But he can give you some cream that might be able to make the scars disappear or fade so that they are not so noticable.

Definately see a dermatologist first! As for insurance depends on your policy! My sister has bad acne and hasnt had treatments for scarring yet but her dermatologist said he would point her in the right direction! It will be a long process and your scars wont be void, but they will be less noticable!

Dermatologist. My mother is an esthetician and she is always doing chemical peels and other processes (that basically "sand" down your face) to get rid of the scarring.

Yep, go to see a dermatologist to see what treatment will be best for you. He/she may suggest a chemical peel, laser or possibly a filler with subcision for your scars. HTH : )
