My new boyfriend (only official for about 3 weeks now) wants to take his ex-girlfriend out as a "Thank You" for giving him a schoolbook for college. Saving him about $90. I have already told him I'm not ok with this. But he insists that they are only friends. Trust me, I am putting my foot down on this one, but I want to hear your thoughts on this. And what good is it, if he pays for dinner cause then he isn't saving $90. Hello!!

I think that you should let him know that you are not happy about it but let him go if he insists. He is going to see her another time anyway if he really wants to bad enough. You havent been dating for that long so if you already feel like you cant trust him break it off now and get it over with. Guys dont like possisive jealous girls so I would be careful if I were you.

Well it is posible that they are just friends. How about you suggest a compromise. Why don't you and he prepare a meal together and have her come over? He will still be treating her to diner, he will be saving himself some money, and you will be there the whole time.

If he wants to take her to dinner just for a book, then there's something behind it... a thank-you would suffice for a book, not a dinner, especially since it's his ex.

I say stick to your guns.. or invite yourself along .. I mean why should he mind if they are only "friends"... Friends have lunch not elaborate dinner...
