Dad recently out of jail about being gone for 10 yrs - has maintained phone contact with daughter for last 5 yrs. Dad out of jail almost 2 mos now, and they have spent some time together - I am confortable with him for the most part, do you think it is okay for me to ask for a basic outline of what they plan on doing while together or where going. Also he has a new girlfriend now - do you think it is okay tht I request he does not introduce this women yet and instead take the 24 hrs with his daughter alone since he has been gone 10 yrs. I know we still have feeling for each other and I really don't want her to meet the girlfriend.
Me and her dad have a love/hate relationship - passionate but painful, and one that cannot be , but I don't think he needs to introduce the new girlfriend yet. advice ....

First ask yourself...are you worried about your daughter...or your own feelings.

If he has a permanent girlfriend who will be part of your daughter's life, then it would be okay for them to be introduced. I see nothing wrong with asking for a general itinerary of their plans for their time together.

One thing that might help is to get your daughter a prepaid cell so that she feels like she can reach you anytime she needs to.

Wether or not he should have unsupervised overnight visitation depends on what he spent 10 years in jail for. I mean obviously it wasnt jaywalking. five years of phone contact is really nothing. And two months out is not enough time to tell if he has been rehabilitaded. As for the girlfrien sounds like it might be more about you than your daughter. And yes you should know where they are giong and what they are doing.

sounds like you are jealous and should just get over it.
if he has visitation, then he should know the rules of not taking her out of state, etc. etc.
so unless you have reason to beleive that he is going to run off with her, why not leave them alone?
you say that you cannot have a relationship with the man,so why begrudge him of being happy if he has found a woman that can make him that way?
