I have 4 tattoos, 1 is a butterfly on my wrist. I think tattoos are a good way of expressing the way you feel at that moment in time and it reminds you of certain things......why not get it done if its what you really want?..... I would look around for a design that you really like and will not regret later in life....Go for it

Yeah that would be a really good idea, maybe instead of a butterfly u can have a fairy, with her legs like crossed....like u noe sitting with her knees near ur chest and ur legs crossed sorry im not being very descriptive that would be cute. but if u want to stick with the butterfly that would be nice too.

I wanted a similar tattoo. I wanted a fairy with my children initials in the wings. When i spoke to the tattooist his feelings on this was it would look like i was trying to cover up an old tattoo. I could see what he meant but i did still really like the idea, but went for their names in japanese instead.

does a butterfly remind you of your grandma in some way? i think for memorial tattoos, it's nice to get something that was meaningful for the two of you, like an illustration from a book she read to you, or a hobby that you shared, or her favourite flower, etc.
but - it's up to you. if it's what you want, you shouldn't care about my opinion. just offering up some other suggestions because sometimes people don't think of all the amazing possibilities when it comes to tattoos.

My father is a doctor and specifically studies skin, he still won't let me get a tatoo and I am 25, living on my own! You see, he says that 89% of people who get a tattoo regret it and have it burned off. I think that it is a good idea to have a way to remember your grandmother, and the only reason I don't have a tattoo is because my father scared me out of it with pictures of worn off tattoos but i am all for your decision.

Sounds Great, especially if it's what you want. Getting a tattoo is a personal choice and the decision as to what it should be is very personal.. So you are on the right track.

I like it, but the thing you need to remember is to NEVER ask for others opinions about a tattoo. Its on your body and you are the one that has to like it.
Just because someone here hates it doesn't mean you should change the image because of them. Do what you feel is best and good luck.

I think that would be great! Just think alot about it,because a tatoo is big deal, and wont go away. Some people wont hire people with tatoos as well. Your idea is beautiful, dedacating this to your Grandma. Good luck!

I've seen it done many times before so if you want to be like other people go right ahead and get it. Make sure you go to a good shop with real artist that can draw it for you.
