well, I'm thinking about moving to Australia with my family.... and like I was just wondering what the education system is like... coz I'm in my first year of GCSE's here in the UK and like if I was to move in say a year's time I would be like 16 and where about's where I stand and what could I do??! Or would it just be a total mess and pointless for my future!!

Hi, I have just moved to Australia from the UK with my family, although my daughter is only 10. I would say that if you could, try to stay on in the UK to complete your GCSE's. This is from experience of my daughter going to school in Australia. I have found that the schools have less of a focus on academic skills and seem to value other skills (i.e. sports). So you might find that what you are actually studying for in the UK may not be offered here. If you get your GCSE's in the UK, your qualifications are useable over here and you could then move into the equivalent of the 6th form/college over here in Australia.

Warmth and Smiles.

Hi, I moved to Australia from the U.K 4 years ago. I moved to Sydney, and sent my kids to school there. My kids were beaten up whilst there and harrast. I found that school to be full of dirty arrogant little poo's, lol.

Although the schooling is not bad over here, i would recommend staying in the UK.

I just recently moved from Sydney to New Zealand, and I love it over here. More than any of the 2 others. I would say live in Nz,

But hay, its your choice

It depends totally upon which school you end up at. Some schools there are great and you will do fine, some are poor and will not help you to convert over what you have learned to fit their exams and you will do badly. Make sure the school you choose over their is a good one and you will be fine!

Come and live in Queensland, plenty of good schools, the weather is perfect, and when you buy a house you don't need to pay it off for the next 80 years.

We have schools here - and some pretty good ones too.

Kids here are happier and healthier. Lots of outdoor activities and good weather.
