Save your 3.0 Works doc as .rtf file, then import the .rtf file into Works 8.0.

works 8.0 should be backward compatible to read that.... you could try changing the *.txt at the end of the file click yes /ok and change the proprties of the original file.......like click on file at the top of works 8.0 / click saves ....... then change it to what you know to be a 8.0 doucument...be sure to try and open it thru 8.0 to save as an 8.0 document....hope this helps!
