I hear everyone saying the best time to bass fish is during the spawn. I am planning a trip to Three Lakes (Eagle River) Wisconsin, and I am trying to hit it during the spawn. I assume it is in the spring, but how exactly can you predict the spawn? What are the contributing factors to cause the spawn? Do these same conditions hold true across the U.S.? I am planning a trip to Texas as well. Any ideas?

Don't know what to answer other than when conditions are right. Water temp is main factor.

When you go to Texas keep your eye on water temp to catch largemouth. They usually start when water temp hits 58F.Mid Feb usually in East TX.
Pre-spawn going on now. Fish channels and humps 17-24ft deep on Carolina rigged french fry and lizards.

Bed fishing during the spawn is one of the best ways to guarantee catching bass. Be sure to release the bass where you catch them so they can finish spawning. The males guard the beds after the females lay eggs so be sure to release them where you catch them. They will go right back to work guarding the bed.

I fish in Spread Eagle, Wisconsin (about an hour from Eagle River). And I don't know how to tell when the spawning is going to be, but last year it was in the middle of May to late May. Awesome Bass Fishing!!

Hi,well to start i cant quite remember at this particular time but im pretty sure its in mid April, as for other areas around the US it will surely very due to temperature differences as in it may be colder in April in some places which would make them spawn later and warmer in other places witch will make them spawn earlier but not that much,Also as for other species of fish they all spawn at completely different times with a few exceptions here and there, bye the way i also would like you to know that i live in Three Lakes WI and if you would like someone to take you fishing to the good spots i would be more than happy to show you a few, I am a fisherholic,I LOVE fishing, if you feel like this could be a plan you can contact me for further info at taters818@yahoo.com thanks hope to here from you soon.

Good answers, but it all depends on the water temp. I like fishing for bluegill here in southwest lower Michigan and they don't start spawning till water reaches 68 degree's. That could be in early May or early June, just watch the water temp.

See if you can get the phone number to a couple of the local tackle stores. They are the best source of information on local conditions

It depends on the year, but it usually occurs in late May or early June sometimes earlier or later.

It depends on the year, especially how mild or extreme the winter has been.
