The best advice is to find a song similar to one sung the character you want to play. For example, if you're auditioning for Miss Hannigan in Annie you might sing "Everything's Coming Up Roses" from Gypsy.

You don't want to sing a song from the play (unless it's a character you're clearly NOT auditioning for... like a male) because some directors assume that's how you'd sing it in the show and they might want a different interpretation.

Pick a song in a "happy" range for you and make sure the sheet music you bring for the accompanist is what you practice with (even if you just plunk out your notes from the music on a piano).

In general, Broadway standards are always good (and music stores... i.e. stores that sell musical instruments and sheet music) often have Broadway collections available.

For a more specific answer, tell us for what you're auditioning...

Otherwise, maybe:
"Popular" from "Wicked: The Musical"
"Everything's Coming Up Roses" from "Gypsy"
"I Have Confidence" from "Sound of Music"
"Honey Bun" from "South Pacific"
"Anything Goes" from "Anything Goes"

Buenos Aires (from Evita)- The music encompasses a 2+ octave drop in a unmarried degree. And it has truly puzzling 'patter'-type, tongue tornado-crammed verses. in case you may draw close that, you'll blow all of us away. I Dreamed A Dream (Les Mis)- in case you may pound emotion into each and every word, i have considered human beings stear up that is so touching. notwithstanding that's no longer extraordinarily upbeat. no longer Getting Married (agency)- in case you want to electrify them by technique of making a music the merely correct patter tounge tornado. Don Juan (Smokey Joe's Cafe) once you've appearing, belting, dancing skills, and would carry out it properly, everybody continuously loves it. Pirelli's Miracle Elixer (Sweeney Todd)- Patter, humorous, surprising lyrics.
