If you want to come home with something, deer hunting, since there are a lot of deer compared to the number of bears available for hunting. If you want more meat for you shot, then bear, since they are generally bigger. If you just like sitting in the woods in the cold then either will work just fine.

I have never hunted bear, but I am sure that it is an awesome experience. Deer hunting is the same way. The hunt probably won't differ a whole lot, but the prey definitely brings a different aspect to the hunt. Be prepared to get out your checkbook if you want to go bear hunting. From what I have heard, it is pretty expensive.

It depends upon the hunter. For myself there are few things in life that I enjoy more than hunting deer. However, I am sure there are people out there who feel the same way about bear hunting and some may feel this way about cat hunting.

Well, my friend, for me, it would depend on what I prefer to eat.
The hunt(without a guide) is where the excitement is. The kill can be a downer. I have hunted both and prefer deer hunting.

Well taking a larger animal such as a bear makes you feel powerful.
But stalking a deer and taking a 400 yard shot makes you feel like a sniper.

I'd say go for deer. Test your shots. Just make sure you take the long range shots....Show'em what you're made of

i'm on the same song as you Matt. I outgrew my PSE Nova Jr., and that i'm also searching for a clean one to bypass searching with again. i'm after the Mathews Switchback. fairly expensive, yet I listen it is an excellent bow, and also you'll under no circumstances go with yet another one. best of luck.

I enjoy both.

But deer hunting is often more fruitful so I think I enjoy it more.
