My family and I recently took a vacation where we rented a house and we used www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner), and we had excellent luck. We ended up with an excellent house at a reasonable price. I just checked their Web site and they have listings for Maui. Good luck!

I did the same thing for Christmas. Didn't feel like dealing with the cold and snow. There's a whole bunch of sites on the web you can use. I took a look at vrbo like that other guy said but I actually found a better site. Much nicer looking, not so 1996 looking. It's called CoastRentals.com and they deal only in beachfront properties. They have over 200 Hawaii properties and it's really easy to sort through those by capacity or price or bathrooms. Check out their Maui Vacation Homes.

Two great websites:
The first one for sure is www.redweek.com
the second one I think is www.vacationrentals.com, not sure on it.
But Maui has tons of time shares you should be able to rent a great time share 2 bed room 5 star for from $1,000 - $1,500 a week. Once you time share you will never do hotels again.

we went through vrbo.com and found a condo to rent on Napili Bay. It was perfect, the owners even left us a little gift basket for our anniversary. The weekly rate was so much better than a hotel, and we could cook some of our meals saving money on dining out. Loved the Napili Bay.

craigslist. Or if you know the town your looking at has a website check there, places like Bar Harbor list online sometimes.
